| Maria Kanellis was born on February 25, 1982 in Ottawa, Illinois. Kanellis has two younger siblings; a sister, Janny and a brother, Billy. Maria had been asked to follow in the footsteps of other WWE Divas and pose for Playboy, but she initially refused because she did not wish to embarrass her sister, who was still in high school at the time. After refusing the offer to pose a few times, she eventually posed for the cover of the April 2008 issue, with an accompanying nude pictorial.
